Panos Papahadzis
Producer
Panos Papahadzis, the founder of Argonauts Productions S.A. is in the film and TV business since the ’80s. He has been an active member of the State Council of Cinematography under the authority of the Greek Ministry of Culture. He participated at the EAVE/ Media Programme in 1992 seminars for European producers. Panos is a member of the European Film Academy, and has been the President of S.A.P.O.E. (Audiovisual Producers’ Association of Greece) from 2012 until 2017, a founding member of the Hellenic Film Academy and member of the Academy’s first Board of Directors as well as a founding member of the Chamber Of Greek-Chinese Economic Cooperation. In his career, Panos has produced TV series, documentaries and over 50 feature films, where many have won national recognition, commercial success and successful international festivals’ track (Cannes, Berlin, Karlovy Vary, London, Toronto, Istanbul and more). Over the years, Panos has also worked on many international co-productions (with France, Germany, Canada, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Sweden and Cyprus).
Maria Kolokotroni
Member of the Board Of Directors
Maria studied accounting at the Technical Institute of Piraeus, Athens. She has been involved in the film business since 1977. From 1984 till 2006 she was Head of Personnel and Financing (payroll/ cash flow/credit control/ cost saved/minutes/ contracts between customers and suppliers), at Prooptiki S.A., one of the biggest Greek distribution companies. From 2006 till spring 2008 she was Head of Audiovisual S.A. Finance department, after the merger between Prooptiki and Audiovisual.
Maria is a member of Argonauts Productions’ Board of Directors.
Ioanna Bolomyti
Producer, Post Production Supervisor
Ioanna studied Mathematics – Statistics and Operations Research. She joined Argonauts Productions team in 2006, supervising the post-production phase for the Argonauts’ films and since the last four years she produces her own projects. From 2017 she participates in the company’s shareholding.
Her filmography includes, among others, the international co-productions: BALLAD FOR A PIERCED HEART by Yannis Economides (associate producer & post production coordinator), ROZA OF SMYRNA, the box-office hit in Greece with more than 360.000 admissions (associate producer & post production supervisor), STRATOS by Yannis Economides, which had its world premiere in the Competition Programme of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival (assistant producer & post production coordinator) and the omnibus project DO NOT FORGET ME ISTANBUL (post production supervisor).
As Producer, she just completed Sonia Liza Kenterman’s first feature TAILOR, a Greek, German, Belgian co-production. She is in the post production of Vivian Papageourgiou’s short animation LOST & FOUND, in co-production with Cosmote TV. She produced the documentary BEHIND THE WALL about Dimitris Papaioannou’s performance Still Life, by Nefeli Sarri, being the only producer so far to showcase his work on a documentary with his consent. She is in financing of Assimina Proedrou’s first feature BEHIND THE HAYSTACKS, a Greek, German, North Macedonian co-production, which took part in MFI Script Workshop 2016, Sarajevo Script Station 2015, Berlinale Script Station 2016, First Films First 2016-2017, EAVE Producers Workshop 2018 and won two awards in Crossroards Co-Production Market Thessaloniki IFF 2016, including CNC award. Continuing her collaboration with Thanasis Neofotistos, after his successful short film PATISION AVENUE (world premiere in 75th Venice IFF, three awards in Clermont- Ferrand 2019 and huge success in more than 60 prestigious festival editions), she is now in financing of Thanasis’ first feature PETER AND THE WOLF (working title), which was developed at the co-production training program TEEP 2015, MFI Script Workshop 2016 and First Films First 2017-2018.
Ioanna is an EAVE Producers Workshop 2018 and a Sarajevo Talent 2016 alumna and she has attended the Maia Workshops 2017 and the EP2C Postproduction Workshop 2014.
Elena Priovolou
International Production Services
Elena has studied psychology at the University of Athens and Filmmaking at The New York Film Academy, New York. For 15 years she has been working as an assistant director in New York and Greece for several films and tv projects both in national and international level. She has produced television shows, working both as a financial and creative producer. She has produced and directed short films and documentaries. She has also taught directing, script writing and video editing in private colleges and schools in Greece. She has an extensive experience as a senior copywriter for major advertising agencies and worked in the marketing department of great corporations in Greece. She has overseen the execution of several events, promotional campaigns and conferences, as well as being the content manager for sites about culture, entrepreneurship and success stories. The combination of knowledge attained throughout her career, has found its manifestation in her new role, leading the International Productions Services for Argonauts.
Dimitris Tsakaleas
Producer
Dimitris Tsakaleas is a film producer and director from Greece. He holds the Filmmaking Certificate from the London Film Academy (Short Courses) and he graduated from School of Film Studies, Faculty of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Audiovisual Film Production. His research study focuses on the way A24 distributes films on the time of social media. has worked as a producer in several short films, a feature film, commercials and music videos. He has attended Berlinale Talents (2020) and Sarajevo Talents (2016) campuses. He was also in the production team of a series of mini documentaries that took place at the 57th Thessaloniki International Film Festival titled “POV’s”. During May of 2018, he was chosen to participate at the Sarajevo City of Film Fund to produce 4 short films that will be shot in Sarajevo. His films have travelled to prestigious film festivals across the world (Toronto IFF, Clermont – Ferrand IFF, Sarajevo IFF, Thessaloniki IFF, Comic – Con IFF, Gijon IFF, etc.) and his feature film also was independently distributed in Greece. He is a directing duo alongside Lida Vartzioti, with whom are currently working on their first feature film. Also, he is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
Maria Laskaridou
Junior Producer
Maria holds a master’s degree in Film Studies from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Audiovisual Production. She also studied Transmedia Storytelling and Media Innovation in Tallinn University in Estonia. She has worked across Europe in European Women’s Audiovisual Network (EWA), Nu Boyana Film Studios and voluntarily at Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival. Her filmography as a producer and production manager includes, among others, Chlorine (Th. Psychogios, 2020), Sad Girl Weekend (D. Tsakaleas & L. Vartzioti, 2019), Yawth (D. Tsakaleas & L. Vartzioti, 2018). She was also in the production team of a series of mini documentaries that took place at the 57th Thessaloniki International Film Festival titled “POVs”.
Hélène Stergiopoulou
Producer, Film Curator
A political sciences graduate from the UK, Helene received a scholarship for postgraduate studies at Charles University, Prague, and Eötvös Loránd, Budapest, in the social sciences field. In 2013 she commenced her professional career as executive film producers’ assistant at Origo Studios in Budapest, where she gained experience working on largescale productions (Anti-Social, 2015, dir. Reg Traviss, Hercules, 2015, dir. Brett Ratner, Spy, 2015, dir. Paul Feig) from USA, Canada and Europe. She has taken directing and cinematography courses and attended numerous workshops, worked on international feature films in the director’s or production team (Publieke Werken, 2014, dir. Joram Lürsen, NL/HU, Tsatsiki, 2015, dir. Lisa James Larsson, SE/GR, Interrail, 2018, director Carmen Alessandrin, FR/DE/HU/GR), line-produced many projects and directs her personal audiovisual works. Currently, she is developing the feature length documentary Dear Future by Christiana Chiranasgnostaki.
Marios Karamanis
Production Coordinator
Marios studied scriptwriting and direction at the L. Stavrakos Film School and he is a member of the Greek Director’s Guild. Since 1981 he has been working in both cinema and TV as an assistant director, director and production manager. He has worked in more than 40 films, several TV shows and many advertisements. He has directed documentaries and short films. His documentaries “Holly Tries” 1989 and “Aigina- K. Aggelaki Rouk” 1991 won prizesat the “Cinema and Reality” Documentary Film Festival.
In ARGONAUTS S.A. Marios is responsible for supervising and coordinating the productions.
