“Tailor” by sonia Liza Kenterman has its international premier at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival
Synopsis: Α coming-of-old-age story of an eccentric Tailor who doesn’t quite fit into the world and has isolated himself into the attic of the family’s tailoring shop. On the verge of losing everything, he finally gets triggered: with a wondrously strange bricolage coach—a tailor shop on wheels— he reinvents his life and his craft. He changes the brides of Athens and falls in love for the first time in his 50s.
Sonia Liza Kenterman’s first feature film has its World Premiere at First Features Competition at the 24th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and continues with its Greek Premiere at the 61st Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
“Tailor” is a Greek, German, Belgian co-production. Kenterman, as the director and co-writer along with Tracy Sunderland, states: “I wanted to make an optimistic and hopeful film about the opportunity someone can have to reinvent his life and evolve under adverse circumstances. I was wondering how a seemingly unsuccessful and coward character, who has a dying craftsmanship as his only weapon, could overturn the dead-end that he found himself into and find the strength to take his future into his hands.
In the leading cast, Dimitris Imellos, starring as the Tailor, Tamilla Koulieva, Thanasis Papageorgiou and Stathis Stamoulakatos work alongside a cast of acclaimed actors and actresses.
